Celebrate Veterans Day on November 9 with the Denver Veterans Day Run, Parade, and Festival — a day full of events to honor our Veterans!
Run for a Cause: The 5K and 10K runs start at 9:00 am, with all proceeds going to support Colorado Veterans.
Free Festival: Starting at 9:30 am, enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, and military displays.
Veterans Day Parade: Kicking off at 10:30 am near City Park (E 21st Ave & York St), the parade is a chance for spectators to honor and celebrate our Veterans.
Impacts: The parade will step off at E 21st Ave and York St, turning west on E 17th Ave, and entering City Park at E. 17th Ave and Steele St. Streets will have rolling closures starting at 10:30 am and will reopen once the parade passes. Please expect some traffic delays during the event.

City and County Building
Join us for the Light the Lights Celebration on November 27, 2024, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the City and County Building! Denver’s favorite mascots—Rocky, Bernie, Dinger, RapidMan, and Wooly—will flip the switch to kick off the first holiday lights and music show, hosted by Denver7’s Micah Smith. Enjoy festive music by the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and interactive displays from the Denver Police, Fire, and Sheriff Departments. Can't attend? This year’s light and music show, produced by Colorado Holiday Experiences (formerly known as Blazen Illuminations), offers a fresh, "epic" twist on holiday classics. Featuring the artistry of Madeline and Mercedes Webb and lighting by top industry producers, it promises an unforgettable experience.

Impacts: During the Light the Lights event, the center portion of the sidewalk on the west side of Bannock will be closed, but all entrances to the City and County Building will remain open. Bike lanes will be closed, but a bike detour will be in place. Some metered parking spaces on E. 14th Ave. between Broadway and Cherokee will be unavailable during the event, but accessible parking spots on the south side of the building will not be affected.

The Mile High Tree’s breathtaking 110-foot display returns to Civic Center Park, with a special lighting ceremony on November 22 at 5:15 PM. From that evening through December 31, enjoy nightly light shows synchronized to festive music, creating a magical atmosphere each night.

The Cherry Creek Holiday Market at the Fillmore Plaza runs from November 21 to December 24. The market will feature over 40 artisan vendors, live music, bars, food, and holiday entertainment. The market offers a welcoming spot for shopping, music, drinks, and holiday photo opportunities!

Thursday–Saturday: 11 am – 9 pm
Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve: 12 pm – 3 pm
Impacts: Fillmore Street between 1st and 2nd Ave will be closed from November 11 to December 31. Attendees are encouraged to walk, park at Cherry Creek Shopping Center, or use public transportation or rideshares to help reduce traffic and parking congestion.
